QC Technician (Electrical Test)
Position Tile: QC Tech II
Department: Operations
Reports to: Quality Manager
Job Type: Full Time
Background check and pre-employment drug screen required. This position is a safety-sensitive position.
Overview
Inspect and electrically test control panels in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
· Inspect panels for fit and finish.
· Continuity checking of electrical circuits and troubleshooting of wiring issues
· Variable frequency drive programming
· Programmable logic controller flashing and setup
· Attention to detail and self-motivated
· Must be able to accurately complete test reports and other paperwork
· Function testing of relay logic and PLC input/output to test drive, motor starters, etc.
· Contribute to the company’s continuous improvement processes
Requirements
· Must be detail oriented.
· Must practice good/safe housekeeping.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Must comply with PPE requirements.
· Ability to read and understand electrical schematics is required. This includes knowledge of schematic symbols, panel components and general wiring practices.
· Understanding of AC and DC circuits is required.
· Previous control panel building/testing experience is preferred.
· Previous experience with 480V industrial panels is highly preferred
· Current UL MTR certification is highly preferred-Includes shift differential
· Employee must be proficient in both spoken and written English
· Ability to distinguish colors
· Computer skills to include Word, Excel, Outlook
· Ability to stand for extended periods of time, work may also be required in a seated position.
· Education: Minimum High School graduate or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or a related field is preferred
· Experience: Minimum of five years' experience in electrical controls testing, commissioning, or service.
