Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Order Picker Forklift Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient and accurate selection, loading, and unloading of goods within a fast-paced distribution environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in operating various heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and clamp trucks. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to streamlined shipping and receiving processes while maintaining safety standards and inventory accuracy. All roles are compensated positions, emphasizing the importance of professionalism and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts, cranes, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment to load and unload materials efficiently.
- Utilize RF scanners and warehouse management systems to accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment.
- Perform order picking tasks with precision using <PERSON> pickers or similar equipment to fulfill customer orders.
- Load and unload goods onto trucks, ensuring proper handling of heavy items through appropriate lifting techniques.
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities by verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Support inventory management through regular stock counts and materials handling activities.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to optimize workflow and improve operational efficiency.
- Operate heavy equipment such as cranes or clamp trucks for specialized materials handling tasks.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all warehouse operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution, order picking, and materials handling.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, pallet jacks, crane equipment, clamp trucks, and other heavy machinery.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners for accurate inventory control.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to warehouse safety practices.
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes within a warehouse setting.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail.
- Prior experience in construction or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
