Local Tulsa company that designs, manufactures, and assembles downhole equipment looking to hire 2nd shift Rubber Press Operators.
Summary of Duties:
- Verify material matches work order and cut, mill and press the rubber.
- Meet production output goals, insure quality of all pressed parts, and maintain production records.
- Read work orders to determine job specifications and tolerances.
- Closely monitor assigned machine. Leaving assigned machine or not being alert to monitor the machine while it is running could cause scrap of expensive parts, expensive machine damage, or injury to you or other employees.
- Follow all company policies, department standard operating procedures, safety procedures, quality procedures, ISO procedures, and any other verbal or written instructions.
- Work in a safe manner, without endangering yourself or other employees. If an employee is observed using unsafe practices, alert the area manager, safety committee member, or member of management. Use all appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment) for job.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime, weekends, or holidays, to support production requirements.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines operated with some help and inform manager or lead of any other maintenance needs that exceed your ability.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/Training/Experience: Prefer high school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently handles and lifts material ranging from 5 to 20 pounds.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, oil or coolant mist, hydraulic fluid and stoner and mic lube is routine. Doors are frequently open which allows any outdoor pollens, allergens, etc. inside buildings.
- Requires standing most of the time, plus frequent bending, turning and reaching to operate machines. Frequent use of both hands/arms, working together to load rubber, remove parts, operate machine or make adjustments is required. Walking between press and mill are required multiple times per day.
- Must have good vision, for close up work. Paperwork may have some small print that must be read accurately.
- Must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions, plus hear emergency instructions.
Job Skills/Tools Required:
- Basic understanding of work orders to know what to machine as well as material to use.
- Basic shop math for determining part sizes, locations of part characteristics, tolerance limits, counting parts, calculating speeds and feeds, using ratios, or percentages, etc.
- Ability to understand written or oral instructions, safety rules, company policies, etc.
- Must know how to use basic tools, which includes wrenches, knives, hammers, pliers, etc., which are provided by the company.
Personal Skills:
- Ability to interface with supervisor, support personnel, and management.
- Ability to work with a diverse work force.
Schedule: Monday-Thursday 330pm-2:00am -- could change some, but those should be the core hours. Also: will train on 1st shift before moving to 2nd.
