Major Oklahoma City Steel Fabricating company is seeking qualified Fitter / Welders for their Field Services division. Previous or Current Fitter / Welder experience is required. Previous or Current Field Service experience is desired but not required.
Pay based on experience is $30-$35 per hour plus per diem. Room and board taken care of by company with stays usually in Airbnb properties and food for meals provided.
Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder/Fitter to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidates will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and components according to specifications. This role requires a strong understanding of welding techniques, the ability to read and interpret schematics, and proficiency in various welding processes. The successful candidate will work with a variety of tools and machinery, including plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and cranes.
Must have the ability to travel to jobsites that can last from 1-2 weeks to 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate metal components by interpreting blueprints and schematics.
- Perform welding tasks using Stick welding and other methods as required.
- Operate plasma cutting equipment to cut metal parts accurately.
- Utilize a press brake machine for bending and shaping materials.
- Assemble components using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Conduct quality checks using calipers and other measuring instruments to ensure precision.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols.
Skills
- Proficient in rigging techniques for lifting heavy materials safely.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, including TIG, FCAW, MIG and Stick welding.
- Pass a weld test would be 3G plate and 6G pipe.
- Experience with plasma cutting equipment and press brake machines.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics effectively.
- Skilled in fabricating metal parts with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with machining processes is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively.
