Local City department is looking to hire a mechanical journeyman to interview & start immediately.
Under general supervision performs skilled maintenance repair, & installation of mechanical systems at the journeyman level & other related assigned duties.
- Designs and installs new mechanical systems including heating and cooling systems and a variety of complex mechanical components
- Repairs and maintains existing facilities
- Repairs pipes, valves, compressors, vents, drains and other related mechanical systems
- Installs new gas service and performs repairs on existing gas lines
- Makes estimates of material, time and labor necessary to complete jobs
- Monitors parts inventory and maintains truck inventory
- Performs preventive maintenance on all mechanical systems
- Supervises a crew of maintenance employees as needed
- In some positions operates Central plant equipment including chillers & boiler
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- High school diploma or G.E.D
- 5 Years of experience in mechanical systems repair at the journeyman level
Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 11pm-7am
Requirements: background check, pre-employment drug screen (SAFETY SENSITIVE), high school diploma/GED, driver's license, journeyman license
