Professional Accountant needed to work on clients in the Oil & Gas industry.
Job Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for preparation, reconciliation, review and accuracy of Financial statements, General Ledger, Bank accounts, Budgets, Project costs, Annual reporting.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None, until assigned by the CFO Duties/Responsibilities:
Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement and cash flow.
Perform general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and bank account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Conduct account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities and propose corrective action.
Monitor and review and assist in the preparation of budgets, forecast and financial reports.
Collaborate with internal teams to gather financial information and support decision-making processes.
Ensure compliance with GAAP.
Participate in audits to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Provide financial analysis and recommendations to improve business performance.
Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
Review and assist with weekly vendor payments.
Monitor and review accounts payable data entry for accuracy.
Prepare annual 901 reports and 1099 reporting.
Prepare and record journal entries as needed.
Process monthly property mortgage and other payments.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting principles and practices. Proficiency in account reconciliations and analysis. Familiar with accounting standards and financial concepts. Ability to lead the accounting team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Education and Experience: Degree in Accounting or related field preferred. At least two years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
