- Perform advanced diagnostics on gasoline, diesel, and hybrid engines using OEM and aftermarket scan tools.
- Interpret fault codes, analyze live data streams, and conduct component-level testing to identify root causes.
- Collaborate with service advisors to explain findings in clear, customer-friendly language.
- Recommend precise repair solutions and verify repairs through post-service testing.
- Stay current with evolving engine technologies, emissions systems, and diagnostic software updates.
- Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in automotive diagnostics, ideally 3+ years in a professional shop environment.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools such as Bosch KTS, Snap-on MODIS, or OEM-specific systems.
- Strong understanding of engine management systems, fuel injection, ignition, and emissions controls.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and technical service bulletins.
- ASE certification in Engine Performance (A8) or equivalent is a plus.
- A methodical, detail-oriented approach and a passion for solving complex mechanical puzzles.
