A general contractor specializing in telecommunications and structured cabling solutions is seeking candidates for a electrical power station Electrical Transmission, Distribution & Substation Supervisor
located in Weleekta, OK for an indefinite project time period.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Transmission, Distribution, and Substation Supervisor to lead field crews performing construction, installation, electric-power systems.
The Supervisor is responsible for safe daily field operations, crew leadership, critical planning, coordination with the utility or host employer, OSHA compliance, quality control, and completion of assigned work according to project drawings, specifications, and approved procedures.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise electricians, equipment operators, laborers, apprentices, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct and document daily job briefings and Job Hazard Analyses before work begins.
  • Confirm system voltages, energized equipment, minimum approach distances, grounding requirements, PPE, and work boundaries.
  • Verify that employees are qualified and authorized for their assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate outages, clearances, switching activities, grounding, and lockout/tagout with the utility or host employer.
  • Prevent unqualified employees from entering restricted work areas or approaching exposed energized parts.
  • Enforce OSHA, utility, owner, and corporate safety requirements.
  • Review construction drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, work packages, and approved submittals.
  • Plan crew assignments, equipment, tools, materials, and daily production.
  • Supervise transmission, distribution, and substation construction and maintenance activities.
  • Oversee conduit, grounding, cable, equipment-foundation, structural-steel, transformer, switchgear, control-cable, and station-service work.
  • Inspect fall-protection equipment, electrical PPE, rubber goods, grounding equipment, hot-line tools, aerial lifts, digger derricks, and lifting equipment.
  • Stop work immediately when unsafe conditions, unexpected, energized equipment, or changes in job scope are identified.
  • Lead emergency-response planning, including electrical contact, pole-top, bucket, vault, and confined-space rescue as applicable.
  • Complete daily reports, safety records, inspection forms, time sheets, material tracking, and quality-control documentation.
  • Report incidents, near misses, damaged equipment, and changes in field conditions.
  • Maintain professional communication with customers, inspectors, engineers, utility representatives, and project management.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Relevant transmission, distribution, substation, or electrical construction experience.
  • Previous experience supervising electrical or utility field crews.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.269 requirements for electric-power generation, transmission, and distribution operation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart V requirements for electric-power transmission and distribution construction.
  • Employer determination and documentation as a qualified employee for the specific equipment, voltage levels, and work methods assigned.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize exposed energized parts, determine nominal voltage, observe minimum approach distances, and apply appropriate protective measures.
  • Ability to read electrical one-line diagrams, construction drawings, grounding plans, conduit schedules, and equipment specifications.
  • Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass required drug screening, background screening, and project-specific site-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction course-completion card.
  • Journeyman line worker, journeyman electrician, or equivalent documented utility experience.
  • CDL Class A license.
  • NFPA 70E electrical-safety training.
  • Pole-top and bucket-rescue training.
  • Fall-protection and climbing training.
  • Aerial-lift and bucket-truck training.
  • Digger-derrick or crane qualification appropriate to assigned duties.
  • Qualified rigger and signal-person training.
  • Confined-space entry and rescue training.
  • Grounding, equipotential-zone, and temporary protective-grounding training.
  • Arc-flash hazard and electrical-PPE training.
Important Qualification Statement
An OSHA 10-Hour or 30-Hour course-completion card does not, by itself, qualify an employee to work on or near energized electrical equipment.
The selected employee must be evaluated and designated as qualified for the specific tasks, equipment, work methods, and voltage levels involved.
Until the employee demonstrates proficiency, the employee will be considered in training and must work under the direct supervision of a qualified person.
Physical and Work Requirements
  • Work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and other field conditions.
  • Work in energized or restricted substations and transmission/distribution facilities.
  • Climb structures, ladders, and equipment when authorized and properly protected.
  • Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift materials and equipment as required.
  • Wear arc-rated clothing, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, fall protection, and other required PPE.
  • Travel and work overtime, weekends, nights, or scheduled outages when required.
Safety Authority
The Supervisor has the authority and responsibility to stop work whenever an unsafe condition exists, job conditions differ from the approved work plan, required protective equipment is unavailable, or workers are not properly trained, qualified, or authorized.
